Key Nutrient: Carnitine
L-Carnitine is an amino acid. Carnitine’s job is to regulate cellular metabolism. Carnitine transports fatty acids into the mitochondria so they can be metabolized for energy. Over 90% of cellular energy originates from within the mitochondria. Studies suggest that an increased level of carnitine means increased fatty acid transportation into the cell, thus increased energy and improved endurance.
Acetyl-L-Carnitine is the biologically-active form of the amino acid L-carnitine.
